Horrific new video shows police shooting dead an unarmed WHITE California teen, 19, as he lay on the ground

It does appear to have been sparked by a hostile attitude towards the police and a failure of co-operation.  That is always dangerous.  It puts the police on hairtrigger alert

Shocking new video has emerged showing California police shooting dead a 19-year-old man as he lay on the ground.

Cellphone footage shows Dylan Noble being gunned down by cops at a Fresno gas station after they pulled him over for speeding on June 24.

He was taken to hospital with four bullet wounds but later died in surgery, prompting angry protests.

Fresno police confirmed that officers had shot Noble four times - twice before the footage and twice during, ABC News reports.

Police Chief Jerry Dyer claims that the unarmed teen was shot when he lifted up his shirt and reached for his waistband. That movement is not clear on the video. No weapon was found at the scene.

Authorities say Noble was stopped after they received reports about a man in a pickup truck with a rifle.

They said Noble drove on for half a mile before he stopped for the cops during a traffic stop. He then walked away from the car, without showing his hands, and made a statement that he 'hated his life', cops have said.

Two cops, both wearing body cameras, then thought they saw him reaching for something.

Noble's death is now under investigation by the FBI, the Fresno County District Attorney's Office and the Fresno Police Department's Internal Affairs division

Dyer said the body camera footage showed the entire incident, though it has not been released. He says it clearly shows Noble ignoring officer's commands.

'When he gets within about 12 feet of the officers, he makes the statement 'I hate my effing life' and then he quickly starts to pull his hand out when the officer fires two rounds and shoots him,' Dyer said.

Lawyers for the victim's family have requested that the bodycam footage is released to the public.

However, the police chief says it's too early to release the footage.  'I believe it explains so much, but I believe it is premature,' he said. 'I don't want to taint any potential witnesses.'

The deadly shooting is now under investigation by the FBI, the Fresno County District Attorney's Office and his the Fresno Police Department's Internal Affairs division.

His death sparked angry protests during a vigil at the scene.

Demonstrators arrived carrying 'White Lives Matter' signs, waving Confederate flags and shouting 'f*** the police' stormed the gas station while others started setting off fireworks, doing donuts in their cars and blocked the middle of the road.

KFSN said the situation calmed when one of the protesters spoke through a police PA. It's not clear whether any arrests were made.
